Wendy Webb Kumer, Director of the Flute Academy, is a highly successful flute teacher, performer, flute choir director, clinician, and master class artist. On the faculty at Duquesne University for more than 22 years, her students consistently win scholarships, awards, competitions, and placement into prestigious conservatories, universities, and colleges. Wendy was selected as the Director of the National High School Flute Choir in Washington, DC, and she has been an Artist/Clinician for the Selmer Corporation for the past 5 years.
All Flute Academy classes, flute choirs, chamber music coachings, and piano lessons are held on Saturdays beginning after Labor Day and concluding by mid-June. A limited number of private flute lessons and piano lessons are available on Saturdays and throughout the week with one of the Flute Academy's trained professionals.
Students are encouraged to remain in their school music programs and are excused from Flute Academy classes for such school activities as football games, parades, competitions, PMEA events, etc.
Classes are held at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Oakland. Free Parking!
